This is just an interesting article I came across. I thought it gave a insightful look at Japanese culture. However I am cautious not to read too much into it. The fear of crime and other cultural perceptions may be oversimplified in the article.

Well, I don't think its a very practical idea now, but who knows, it may pave the way for a personal cloaking device in the future!
